This morning (11-14-09) when Nana tried waking papa he was unarousable and she had to call EMS they rushed him over to MD Anderson where they decided his platelets were too low and cause him to bleed in his brain. Since then he's been having small seizure like activity.
This Man has been Lance's best friend throughout every stage of my husband's life.
This man is a legend facing hard trials throughout his childhood made him grow up into the hard working dedicated man he is today. He's one of the best postal men Lockney has, delivering their mail well for as long as Lance has been alive and possibly longer than that. Back in High School an article was written about him saying he was the best football player no one has ever heard of. That if he was 6 foot He could have played anywhere he wanted but since Pat is just 5'6 he never continued his football career. He had heart and he played with such great passion! Papa didn't go to college though, he chose to pursue a family instead marrying his high school sweetheart and love of his life Betty Sue Farish.

With this woman he had two beautiful daughters who went on to marry and have had 6 grandchildren.
And soon on the way one great grandchild boy, my son Jeffrey Alan. I desire for my son to know this man deeply to build the relationship that Lance and Papa have. To learn from him to hear his stories and appreciate them the way I have and Lance has all his life. I want my son to sit on his lap and experience a horns game with one of the team's biggest fans. And I pray that somehow all that heart and passion that papa has will somehow be passed on to my little guy that he will grow up to be the man that Pat Frizzel has been and is today.
Lance wrote MacBrown an email telling him papa's story. That he has been his biggest fan, never missing a game, and even now as he is taking chemo and radiation down in Houston TX that He still tunes in to every game to cheer on his horns. The team sent him an autographed football along with a personal letter to Papa from MacBrown.

I can't imagine how much this means to papa. It melts my heart to know that it was my husband who made it happen. He is such a wonderful man who cares deeply for people, and he learned much of what I love about him from this sweet man named Pat AKA Papa.

Cancer is such an awful, scary thing. We'll be praying for him!
