My dear sweet husband is so stinking cute.... and so ready for this little man to get here.
Tonight he was being really quiet and I could tell he was researching something..... Nothing new for Lance he is always on google learning new things. (His knowledge of random facts amazes me....) But when he started talking about mixing castor oil with my favorite "non-alcoholic drink" I knew he was up to something. *LOL*
So this is the Top Ways to Naturally Induce Labor.
1) Taking a gentle walk or slowly pedaling a stationary bike might start contractions. Being upright puts pressure on the cervix, which may prompt it to dilate.
2)Sex is the most well-known trick to begin labor. Semen has natural prostaglandins—-a hormone involved in the start of labor. If you use this technique, don’t get up right away and elevate your hips to help the semen stay on the cervix. This will help to thin and dilate it.
3) There are also diet changes that will probably not start labor but will help tone the cervix. Toning the cervix can make early labor shorter and a little easier. Tropical fruits such as kiwi, mango and pineapple contain an enzyme that may cause mild contractions
4) women have been using castor oil to help induce labor. In fact, many old school physicians and midwives swear by it. It can provide good results if you are already in early labor. It is believed to work by causing spasms in the intestines, which surround the uterus toward the end of pregnancy.
-----This one still makes me nervous it's also been known to create horrible diarrhea... YEAH just what every female wants to go along with Labor pains right?!?!?
5) Spicy food-----Some people swear that it was that extra-hot enchilada from their favorite Mexican restaurant that brought them face to face with their new baby.
6) There's also nipple stimulation- the natural hormone Oxytocin is released which causes uterine contractions.
Oh the Fun Things you Learn During Pregnancy ;) I won't tell you which ones we tried.... Except to say we were the "Mall Walkers" of Target last night We walked the inside of that store for a hour and half.
Then we bought the cutest pair of baby shoes. They look like little TOMS so stinking cute. ;)
