Papa's Sweet Blessing

This week our family is dealing with a very hard loss. PAPA, AKA Pat Frizzell passed away. Although, we are all so grateful knowing that he is in a better place and no longer suffering. It's so hard because with our loss, our hearts are so heavy and hurting, deeply missing this wonderful man.
My sweet friend wrote this, and it blessed my heart.
"Remember hearing about Moses spending hours alone on the mountain talking with God and when he came back down to the people his face was radiant? The radiance was the reflection of the glory of God. See, Adam and Eve were created in a glorified body, but when they sinned the glory left them (Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.). One day we will receive our glorified bodies, but not until we are standing in front of the Glorified One."
Papa's eye were always filled with so much JOY and his smile warmed everyone's heart. But to imagine him now in a glorified body just gives me so much peace. Knowing that those last days he spent on this life were so dark and weary on his old body. He isn't suffering no more hurt. He's made NEW.
This past week I was reading in Genesis where Blessings were passed down from father to son or grandfather to son on their death beds. As I was reading through these I just felt like the Lord was pressing into my heart, that there was a blessing to receive from this death as well. Papa had a blessing that needed to be received for Jeffrey. In 2nd Kings 2:9 Elijiah is about to be taken up to Heaven and before he goes Elisha makes the request, "Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit."
I prayed this for Jeffrey that he would inherit pat's sweet spirit and if the Lord would be so gracious a double portion of it. That night Pat passed on to His Eternal Home but I truly believe he left for my son the most precious sacred gift anyone could ever give.
Papa we miss you so much but my heart is comforted by believing your spirit will live on through my son.
The funeral will be this Saturday in Lockney FBC, I won't be able to make it. 37 weeks pregnant and a 6 hour trip, just a little too scary to chance it. Lance refuses to deliver Jeffrey on the road. He's never been one for blood.

I posted some pictures of Pat and How we'll remember the sweet man.
